Recombinant Streptococcus Protein G (r-SPG)
The use of SPG is extremely wide, and can be used for separation and purification or removal of IgG from serum, purification of monoclonal antibodies, separation of antigen-antibody complexes, and the like. After SPG is combined with agarose gel, affinity resin can be prepared for antibody purification, and different subtypes of IgG can be isolated and purified from serum, ascites, cell culture supernatant, etc.
Native SPG has both albumin and cell surface binding domains in addition to the IgG binding domain. Recombinant SPG removes albumin and cell surface binding domain to reduce non-specific binding, it has greater affinity than native SPG and SPA.
