Recombinant Peptostreptococcus magnus Protein L (r-PPL)
Protein L is derived from the large digestive streptococcus (Peptostreptococcus magnus), which is a protein that can combine with a wide range of immunoglobulins. The protein only binds to the kappa light chain of the antibody without affecting the antigen binding site of the antibody. This characteristic makes it more widely combined with various sources and subclasses of antibodies than protein A or protein G. It does not bind to immunoglobulins of bovine, goat or sheep origin and can be used to purify monoclonal antibodies from culture broth supplemented with BSA or FCS.
