Carboxymethyl (CM) is a weak cation exchanger. Compared to strong cation exchange (SP) media, weak cation exchange media offer different selectivity and can be considered when SP media fail to provide the required selectivity.
Based on resolution and application, the CM NUPharose series can be divided into two products:
CM NUPharose FF (~90 μm) and CM NUPharose HP (~35 μm). FF stands for Fast Flow. CM NUPharose FF features fast flow rates, suitable for rapid protein purification, wide applicability, and ease of scale-up. HP stands for High Performance. CM NUPharose HP offers high resolution and is often used in polishing stages.
