Butyl Hydrophobic Resin
Butyl NUPharose FF is a hydrophobic chromatography medium with moderately strong hydrophobicity, formed by coupling n-butyl groups to agarose gel microspheres via stable ether bonds.
Butyl NUPharose HP is a high-resolution butyl resin (HP stands for High Performance), which features high resolution and is typically used in the polishing stage.
The n-butyl group is a “pure hydrophobic” group and exhibits selectivity differences towards various hydrophobic amino acid residues compared to phenyl groups. This product retains the excellent hydrophilicity and large network structure of agarose, offering good compatibility with bioactive macromolecules, high capacity, low non-specific adsorption, and high flow rates.
It is widely used for laboratory-scale preparation of biomacromolecules such as proteins and peptides with certain hydrophobic properties, as well as for industrial-scale production in biopharmaceuticals and bioengineering.
